About the Exhibition

In Infectious, Christopher Zamora “intends to magnify the images of the youth who are susceptible to the shadows of contemporary lifestyles, incessantly reinventing and replicating identities as an aid to conceal and liberate spirits.” Zamora adds, “It is possibly in this amplification of our ever-changing vulnerable characters that we can see the real self vis-à-vis changing times.” Zamora recognizes that increasing access to new technologies and popular media has influenced the youth’s “consumerist” way of life, which, in turn, has turned them into agents of such culture. “Despite the worsening extent of poverty in the country, many young people still seek the importance of being identified as a citizen of the modern world, and, thus, creating a culture of ‘show-offs.’”
